Delivering & Communicating Sustainability
Sustainability can be part of everybody’s job but nobody’s responsibility. It can also be misinterpreted as an expensive add-on issue. To the contrary, getting it right is a necessity and can give a powerful competitive advantage when there is a cohesive approach.
We have a holistic understanding of sustainability; environmental, social and economic which helps our clients reap optimum benefits in each. We work closely with clients to ensure that there is clarity and understanding around sustainability issues, that it is part of their projects’ core strategy and ultimately improves end-users’ lives.
Our excellent generic knowledge of the principles of sustainability is combined with specialist knowledge and experience of the housing and education sectors and extensive PFI experience. We can also put together bespoke teams, drawing if necessary on our network of associates.
In the built environment, too often responsibility for sustainability is with design or technical experts. This approach misses opportunities; the behaviour of the people living, working and studying in these places will have a much bigger and more important effect on our future.
This requires a strategic, multi-disciplinary approach which integrates with the financial constraints.
