Establishment of Complete ICT infrastructure and Key Services for a New ALMO
Redbridge Homes (RH) is a new London-based ALMO, responsible for the management of over 7,000 homes. RH asked Pinnacle Consulting to establish an effective ICT function that would be ready for its launch in April 2007. The ICT capacity needed to support a successful Audit Commission inspection and enable RH to achieve its long-term business objectives.
As the new organisation did not have any in-house ICT capacity, we worked closely with RH management, staff and partners, including the council and third parties, to identify priority ICT requirements. The brief we established was a broad one: to establish core ICT services including website, e-mail and data management, in line with the emerging identity and strategy of the new organisation.
We took a proactive role in establishing the ICT function for the launch of RH. For the organisation’s service improvement programme, we identified the short and medium term ICT priorities, which were service management, information management and communications. By developing a flexible and pragmatic approach, service delivery was able to continue alongside a tactical programme of development for inspection, which would build long term strategic benefits. We proposed a phased approach to building the organisation’s ICT and aligned this to the developing maturity of the organisation.
RH became operational with trained in-house ICT team and a sound ICT infrastructure and all key services in place.
